I adored the two Max Payne games as they managed to bring out that gritty, low ball noir feeling and I thought the plot was pretty decent for a computer game. The dialog in particular had some fantastic lines.
But this trailer, ugh. It really leaves me cold with all these winged men flying around. Maybe it's like one of the hallucinations Max suffers in the first game, but that seems doubtful because there are too many instances of it in the trailer.
I'm also not sold on Mark as Max, he was great in The Shooter but he doesn't seem right here.
On other news I'm thrilled that Will Arnett is coming back to 30 Rock. I've enjoyed watching him since I first saw him in Arrested Development and his guest slots on 30 Rock are the second best ones (after Jerry's 'Sein-vision' one). He brings out an extra level of comedy performance from Alec when he's on screen with him.

Max Payne 1 was the last game I played properly, which is why I keep mentioning. I loved all the Nordic/Germanic mythology references and the 'bullet time' fights were cool – as were Max's hallucinations. I also liked Marky Mark in The Shooter. But it's not looking too good as a movie, at the moment. We'll see though.
And Will Arnett - and 30 Rock - is great.

Oh yes, certainly. The second one was pretty good as well btw. The story wasn't quite in the same league (but still solid) and it didn't have such awesome lines as "He was trying to put out my flames with gasoline." but the improvements in gameplay made up for it quite a bit (and it helped that Max no longer looked constipated and earless. :P
Oh and Mila Kunis as Mona Sax? Maybe I've been watching too much 'That 70s Show' lately but I just can't see that working at all.

Isn't there a rumor going around this will be a pg13? Having played Max Payne 1 & 2 all the way through it would be impossible to show those scenes in the movie.. I mean.. follow the blood trail to escape the trip while listening to your dead child crying... now that is some freaky stuff!
Marky Whalberg though.. good choice for Max P I think... well he looks like he has been rendered by a 128Mb NVIDIA graphics card anyway... hum IT joke sorry.
