[why haven't you posted any pictures of Joanna Page lately?]
"Alan Carr signs with Channel 4 for £3m [for 2 year deal]".
That is, 1.25 Carol Vordermans or 1/3 of a Jonathan Ross.

I never understand why remakes have to be exact copies right down to the names of the characters. It's not like "Steve Keller" and "Mike Stone" are iconic names like "Joe Friday" or "Theo Kojak". And it's not like they have some over-riding mythology for the "Streets of San Francisco" which they have to follow exactly which would justify using new versions of old characters. "Battlestar Galactica" had to tell the basic same story again, that's understood. But this is just a police procedural that could start fresh with the old title being the only thing kept.
It could have been a continuation, not a remake. And given Karl Malden one last chance to make a cameo as Mike Stone to hand it off. (Steve Keller died in a sequel TV movie.)

Comments from The Grand Moff at Comic-Con:
Asked to expand on ongoing rumours that fantasy heavyweight Neil Gaiman might be writing an episode for series five: "I can absolutely confirm that that would be nice."
[A]sked whether Billie Piper might return once more: "You have to hand it to the Doctor for dumping a slightly needy girlfriend by palming her off on a copy of himself. He tried leaving her in a parallel universe, and that didn't work."
