Today's Sitting Tennant: Recovery

David Tennant in Recovery

Today's Sitting Tennant is from Recovery. I never saw it. Was it any good? Bit harrowing, I hear.

Anyway, don't forget to send in your entries to the Sitting Tennant gallery for a chance to have your name read out on British TV*. Just leave a link in the comments below.

* Clearly, this chance might be as low as 0. I can promise you a chance to have your name on this blog, at least, not that that's very hard to achieve.

It was good, yeah - surprisingly funny, but yeah. Harrowing.

A friend of mind who usually loves Tennant's performances really - and I mean REALLY - hated this drama. Others (like me) thought it a really harrowing drama with incredible central performances. I don't think it's been reshown or released. It's not a comfortable drama for sure...

Recovery has been shown twice, with little fanfare, on our provincial education channel. (Presumably they've purchased it from BBC.) One of my daughters has special needs, and a lot of this rang true for me, particularly the need for sequencing tasks, and the mood swings. It also made it rather difficult to watch. The performances were all top-notch.

Recovery is incredibly difficult to watch, but it really pays testament to the fact that David Tennant can act; he's not just only good for the Doctor and nothing else. Having played him for so long, people often place doubts over his capabilities, but there's no need. He is brilliant. Can't wait to see him on the stage!

And, by the by, Derren Brown is gay? I had absolutely no idea. And despite the mistakes, I'd still love to see him in the flesh. He seems incredibly enigmatic on screen - would love to see how that would play out in performance.

(I've tried commenting on this blog for AGES, but that damn 404 hasn't let me through. Grrr. I commented in spirit, though. Whatever that means.)

    Yep.

Well thanks for sticking with it! You're very generous! Hopefully, the 406s and the 404s will be a thing of the past, assuming my hosting company behave themselves.
