The Japanese Office

From Saturday Night Live in the US, Ricky Gervais 'amusingly' introduces the supposed original Japanese version of The Office – featuring the cast of the US version of The Office. (Thanks to Toby for letting me know!)

Actually, only Steve Carell of the American 'Office' was in the sketch. Everybody else (of the main characters in the sketch) were members of the 'Saturday Night Live' cast. Jason Sudeikis in the Jim role, Kristen Wiig as Pam, Bill Hader as Dwight, and Kenan as Stanley.

At any rate, hope your readers enjoyed it.

Blimey. They don't half look like the originals! Had me fooled anyway...

Great clip. Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader have passable Japanese pronunciation too. ^_^

In case the YouTube link goes dead, there's a better quality (and full-width) video on NBC's site:

Also, couldn't sign-in for some reason (404 error). Weird.

My Japanese is sketchy at best, but it did sound reasonably good. I was impressed anyway.

Unfortunately, the NBC vid only works in the US, otherwise I would have used that (it's the one Tobes sent me).

As for the 404 error, mea culpa (sort of): my hosting company decided to rename a number of my files and although I rebuilt most of the site files to compensate, I forgot to rebuild the site JavaScript, which is what handles the sign in/sign out bit. I've rebuilt that now and it should work for you (you might have to do a page refresh, but you probably won't have to).

Apologies and thanks for letting me know!
