Rhys Ifans would be a good Doctor, but I have a feeling they're going to go for someone physically different from DT, and Ifans is another tall, skinny gangly type with mad hair.
I bet SJA gets recomissioned. It's not so much in doubt, more not recommissioned yet. That's RTD's way of kicking the BBC...
What the hell's going on in State of Play?

The only way I can see SJA not getting re-commissioned is on the grounds of cost. With children's TV plummeting to its doom and the BBC making cutbacks everywhere, even though SJA is the top-rated children's BBC show, it might just be too expensive for the Beeb to justify making it any more. On the other hand, it does make a lot of money in merchandising.
As for State of Play, I imagine that Ed Norton took it on to work with Brad Pitt again and when Pitt pulled out and Crowe took over, Norton decided it was time to leg it. I actually think Affleck might do quite a good job, although not as good as Simm did.

1) thanks for the pictures (what is it with DT and those velvet suits??!)
2) State of Play: hmmm... my ambivalence about remakes continues. Agreed on why Norton would hop off once Pitt was off the project and though that pairing had distinct promise, the most recent casting may yet prove better than we may expect...

No, no, keep 'em coming. I was aware of the trailer already thanks to Behind the Sofa and Television Without Pity, but next time that might not be true.
