I'm loving the grown up Famous Five idea, kind of like Cold Feet: The Mystery Years. It's the kind of programme that could be brilliant or so, so, so grotesquely awful that it will be worth checking out no matter what. If they don't make it at least a bit camp it will be very disappointing. Do you think they will still drink lashings and lashings of ginger pop?

Yes, it appealed to me a lot, although it could go in many different directions (happy, chippy adults who are still forever young v washed up, jaded adults remembering their glory years in the cold light of day and realising everything's been a comedown ever since).

The fact it's a Disney Channel idea worries me that it's just going to be arse.

I wonder if it's going to be a period piece? The first book came out in 1942 - 30 or so years on would be 1972. 'Life on Mars Bars' anyone?
