Tom (Milligan) Ellis as companion? It'd make sense if Martha's coming back for the second half. And they need a different companion dynamic.

(I'd love it if they brought Sally Sparrow and Larry Nightingale back as companions, but I don't think it's going to happen.)

I think they should have the Human Dalek in Torchwood too, just to add a bit of verite.

I thought Owen already was a human dalek.

I want to know how much Martha will get to swear in Torchwood.

Do you not get the impression that we'll be seeing a rebooted, family friendly, Torchwood come January?

I suspect something more mainstream will be on the way, but with a BBC2 9pm or 10pm, I'm pretty sure they'll try to keep it aimed at the late teenage market or above.

If they're happily screening Rome at 9pm, there's very little they couldn't put into Torchwood in that timeslot. But it'd be nice if it were properly de-BBC3'd.

My problem with Torchwood was that it was a less fun, less profound and less disturbing version of Doctor Who (as the Last of the Timelords proved) . A bit juvenile without being fun, and a bit pofaced without being profound. But the signs are they are addressing that. Or is it me being optimistic? Martha could help the programme in that direction.

I have never seen Torchwood (at its worst) summed up better!

"But the signs are they are addressing that."

I'm feeling vaguely more optimistic, too, but it depends how much RTD is going to keep his eye on Chris Chibnall's ball.

Man, I could write for Torchwood with one-liners like that.
