This question may seem off topic but it's actually inspired by one of the stories linked here: what do you consider good journalist practice regarding spoilers? I mean, in your book, what does or doesn't constitute something you can mention without saying 'Warning! Spoilers ahead!' or similar.

Depends. I usually judge it on the basis of whether it'll materially affect the viewing of an episode. So saying that someone's going to die at some point in Lost isn't a real spoiler because Lost has people die all the time and I don't specify which episode. Saying someone will die in a particular episode would be a spoiler; saying that someone will die in Ugly Betty, say, is a spoiler because that's an irregular happening and the mere fact someone is going to die would be an important change of tack for the producers.
Normally, I just try to make sure there's enough ambiguity that those who want to be spoiled can find out more and those that don't won't know for sure.

What prompted this was that there was a bit of a kerfuffle when people mentioned the Doc-Martha kiss on LJ doctorwho without putting in a spoiler cut. Despite its being pimped all over the place by the BBC, posting something along the lines of what you wrote above would get the militants baying for a poster's blood.
Thing is, I have difficulty seeing how that little, context free as it is, could be considered a spoiler. So I thought I'd ask your opinion.
Fandom is madness.

I didn't mention who did the snogging, just that the clip involved it. Besides, this ain't LJ. There's a certain degree of "newsiness" about this site, while LJ is a bit more of a forum.
