From the man who broke the story, more news about Christopher Eccleston's forthcoming appearance in Heroes:

Question: I almost screamed when I read in last week's AA that Christopher Eccleston is going to be on Heroes in January. Is he going to be a regular on the show or just making a guest appearance?— Sara Anne
Ausiello:
He's a full-fledged series regular. And get this: I hear producers originally wanted him for another extremely pivotal role, but at the time, Eccleston was either uninterested or unavailable.

    Well, maybe I'm misinterpreting that, but it sounds like Eccleston could have been considered for Sylar. I think the role could have really used someone on his level, much like Magneto needed somebody with the power of Ian McKellan to deliver the goods.
